IAS INDIA DAY

"Unity in diversity" - is highly applicable to India with its incredibly rich culture and heritage. The culture of India is one of the oldest and unique. From the ancient to the modern times, India has always been famous for its traditions and hospitality. Indians have the cultural diversity that are amazingly brought from different parts of the country. Almost every state has carved out its own cultural niche.

The cultural day called "India Day" is celebrated every year around August 15th commemorating the India's Independence Day. During India Day, more than 18 local regional Indian organizations come together under one umbrella to show case Indian culture and heritage and share the cultural diversity. With an extraordinary history and tradition, all the cultural programs describe the pedestal that India holds for its colorful and unique culture.

India Day is the biggest event of our community and attended by more than 3500 guests last year.

Indian Association of Sacramento [IAS] provides good platform for young children and adults to show case their talents and also educate the beauty of India's culture to American friends and promote cultural harmony and unity.
