On Behalf of IAS Board, We would like to invite all of you & your loved ones to attend India day Mela which is scheduled on Sunday Aug 11th@ McClellan Park from 9-6 pm. This is largest gathering of local Indian community where we proudly celebrate India’s Independence Day. We’re expecting huge number of people to attend this event. Twenty five local regional & non profit organizations are partnering with us & supporting this event. Theme of this year’s India day is “Josh- Naya Bharat”.

There are thirteen major events are planned on same day: Blood donation drive, Cooking, Rangoli, Painting, Photography competition, Women Empowerment, College, Financial wealth seminars, California State Jobs, Parade, IAS Got Talent etc. We also have 30 regional & patriotic dances planned for main stage. We also have Severals food & vendor stalls. Our goal is to create “ Mela” ( Festival) type of atmosphere while promoting our cultural heritage & celebrating India’s Independence Day.

We are going to donate money to “ Care for Children” charity to support education for under served children. We’re also presenting check of $5000 to our 5K Walk/ Run Charity “ We Embrace”. We’ve given away approximately $105 K to more than 21 charities in past 14 years. We are very proud of our record especially charity work.

Every supporting organization is requested to bring at least 100 members and float. Reporting time for Parade is 3:00 pm. We’ll give trophies for winners of Best prop and Best costumes.
